Hi everyone!
It is almost Halloween and because it is spooky month, I thought it would be appropriate to take a closer look at a spooky print! This time, Alice and the Pirates Vampire Requiem Corset JSK in black. This is the original release, but it has been rereleased 1 or 2 times. It also comes in blue, red, ivory and lavender.
Here the dress is in all her glory! The fabric is this textured cotton that Alice and the Pirates is known for, it feels very sturdy and I prefer it to the soft poly from their later releases.
The dress comes with boning (alas plastic) and a detachable front bow with chains and an engraved cross. The cross just plainly states the brand’s name.
Here is a closer look at the fabric and simultaniously a close up of one of my favorite parts if the print. Dracula’s castle surrounded by roses and bats.
Here is the full print! It features gates, coffins, bats, roses, moons, clouds and creatures flying in the sky. Truly iconic. I love the colours they chose for this, the purple/sax/grey is very unusual and makes it super eerie and interesting!
The bottom and top part of the dress features this rose lace, while the bottom hem also has these cute scallops, making the dress somehow very sweet. I do like the detail it adds, though I would have prefered some plainer lace next to the rose lace.
Here is the back, dress comes with detachable waist ties and the print is all round, which I really like!
And yes, the dress comes with partial back shirring, making it super comfortable to wear and a perfect eating dress!🙏
I absolutely love this dress and print, it came out when I was a baby lolita, only 2/3 years in the fashion and still a minor, and I remember the ads and how many comm members owned this print. It surely was iconic for 2009! It didn’t get rereleased for nothing, everyone wanted one haha! At some point I owned the blue corset skirt from a rerelease, but am super happy to own the orginal black JSK now! This print truly is iconic to me and the first of a bunch of vampire prints Alice and the Pirates released in the 2010s.
